This policy outlines your rights and our procedures for returns and refunds, in accordance with UK law.


1. Your Right to Cancel (Change of Mind)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving your goods.

Eligibility for a "Change of Mind" Return:

  • You must notify us of your decision to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order.
  • To be eligible for a refund, your item must be unused, unopened, and in the same condition that you received it.
  • Specifically, for health protection and hygiene reasons, the inner plastic stopper must be intact and the bottle must not have been opened or used.
  • The item must be in its original, undamaged packaging.

Process for a "Change of Mind" Return:

  1. Please contact us at info@scottishperfumery.com within the 14-day period to inform us of your decision to cancel.
  2. Once you have notified us, you have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.
  3. You will be responsible for paying your own shipping costs for returning the item. We recommend using a trackable shipping service, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit.

2. Returns for Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Goods

We carefully inspect every item before it is shipped. However, if your order arrives damaged, faulty, or is not what you ordered, please accept our sincere apologies.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have a right to a full refund if your goods are faulty.

Eligibility and Process for Faulty Goods:

  • You have 30 days from the date of receiving the goods to claim a full refund for a faulty, damaged, or incorrect item.
  • Please contact us immediately at info@scottishperfumery.com, providing your order number and a clear photo of the faulty or damaged item and its packaging.
  • We will provide you with instructions for returning the item. We will cover the cost of reasonable return postage for faulty goods.
  • Upon receipt and inspection, we will issue a full refund or send a replacement, whichever you prefer.

3. How Refunds Are Processed

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item and whether your refund is approved.

  • Timing: If approved, your refund will be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned item (or proof of postage).
  • Method: The refund will be credited back to your original method of payment. Please note that it may take a few business days for the funds to appear in your account, depending on your card issuer's policies.
  • Amount:
    • For "Change of Mind" returns, we will refund the full cost of the item plus the cost of our standard outbound delivery. If you chose an enhanced delivery service, we will only refund the cost of standard delivery.
    • For faulty items, we will refund the full cost of the item and all shipping costs (outbound and return).

4. Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item for a different scent, the most efficient way is to follow the "Change of Mind" return process for a full refund and place a new order for the item you would like.


5. How to Start a Return

  2. Provide Details: In your email, include your full name, order number, and the reason for the return (e.g., change of mind, damaged item). If the item is damaged, please attach a photo.
  3. Await Instructions: We will reply with detailed instructions and the return address.
  4. Package Your Return: Please pack the item securely in its original packaging to prevent damage during transit.
  5. Send the Item: Post the item to the address provided in our instructions.
